Hollis Herman, DPT, PT, OCS, BCB-PMD
Hollis Herman, DPT, PT, OCS, BCB-PMD has worked in women’s health since 1980. She presently works in her private practice, HealthyWomen, in Boston, Massachusetts, treating women and men throughout the life cycle. She has taught orthopedics and women’s health at numerous universities, and has consulted hospitals, clinics and companies on starting women’s health programs. Holly is a well-known national speaker at continuing education courses in pregnancy and postpartum and pelvic floor dysfunction.
She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters dealing with musculoskeletal functions in women throughout the lifecycle, urogenital dysfunctions, pelvic pain, pregnancy and postpartum and geriatric orthopedics. She is the initiator and author of five chapters of the SOWH APTA Gynecologic Manual. She co-authored a book for new parents entitled, How to Raise Children without Breaking Your Back. She has developed educational materials for practitioners through HealthyWomen Resources and was a co-investigator for the development of a validated functional tool for vulvodynia.
Holly received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Boston University in 1976 and 1981. She is an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Certified in PelvicMuscle Dysfunction Biofeedback (BCB-PMD). Holly is the 2004 recipient of the Elizabeth Noble Award from the Section on Women’s Health APTA.
Kathe Wallace, PT, BCB-PMD
Kathe Wallace, PT, BCB-PMD is an internationally recognized author, lecturer and consultant in women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunction evaluation and treatment. Since 1988, her clinical practice has specialized in the evaluation and treatment of the pelvis, pelvic floor and ob/gyn musculoskeletal conditions. Kathe has served as the Washington state representative for the Section on Women's Health of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). In 2006, she received the Washington State Physical Therapy Association (PTWA) Clinical Excellence Award.
Kathe graduated from UCLA with a BS in Kinesiology and received her PT certificate from Children’s Hospital School of Physical Therapy in 1976. She has an eclectic background of acute care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, outpatient pain management and movement based orthopedic treatment. Kathe's credentials include Level II Certification from the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT), Exercise Specialist Certification from the American College of SportsMedicine (ACSM), and Biofeedback Certifcation in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback(BCB-PMD).
Kathe has developed educational materials for practitioners through ProgressiveTherapeutics and was a co-investigator for the development of a validated functional tool for vulvodynia.
