Biofeedback Certification in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction
The Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) is an autonomous, non-profit corporation created in 1981 to establish and oversee professional standards for the provision of biofeedback services and to certify those who meet these standards. Their primary mission is to protect the public welfare by assuring the competence of certified biofeedback practitioners. The Board Certified in Biofeedback for Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction (BCB-PMD) certificate is for health care professionals using biofeedback and behavioral interventions to treat elimination disorders and pelvic pain.
The Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute is one of only four nationally accredited training programs for completion of didactic biofeedback education necessary to apply for PMDB certification through the BCIA. The three courses, PF 1, PF 2A and PF 2B, are accredited by BCIA to assist applicants in completing their 24 hour didactic biofeedback education and four hour practicum prerequisites for certification. The PF 3 course assists applicants in meeting the additional BCIA-PMDB requirement of case studies reviews.
