Dr. Andrew Gillihan has worked in physical therapy & strength and conditioning since 2011. His career started as a physical therapy aid just out of high school in Olympia, WA as he completed his Associate Degree at a local community college. In 2014, he moved back to his hometown of Boise, Idaho to complete his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with an Exercise Science emphasis as a student at Boise State University. During his undergraduate studies, Dr. Gillihan became credentialed as a National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist. Deeply interested in communication and psychology, he returned to Boise State University to complete his Master's of Kinesiology Degree focusing on Sports & Exercise Psychology. Throughout his graduate school experience at Boise State, he conducted research for the department on learning with mobile technology, concussion awareness, international physical activity guidelines, and motor learning & autism. Culminating his studies at Boise State, his final project was creating, organizing, and supervising the Bronco Fitness Challenge and Older Adults Strength Training Program. Following his Master's Degree, Dr. Gillihan continued his education to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He assisted faculty in research targeting population health, social determinants of health, and myofascial release (MFR) techniques with police officers with chronic pain. He has clinical experience in pediatrics, acute care, outpatient sports, orthopedics, and male pelvic health. As a performance physical therapist, Dr. Gillihan specializes in treatment for everyday gym-goers, weight lifters, runners, youth athletes, combat athletes, and tactical professionals such as service members, veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, and EMTs. Dr. Gillihan wants to help clients and patients reach their "moonshots" (the dreams they feel they may never complete). He is passionate about using his knowledge of orthopedics, sports, and male pelvic health physical therapy to help better serve people just like you.
