I'm a pain psychologist with a focus on female pelvic pain conditions, including endometriosis, vulvodynia, vaginismus, painful sex (dyspareunia), and irritable bowel syndrome. I received pelvic medicine training on the job at the Center for Pelvic Pain, Kaiser San Francisco where I was part of a multidisciplinary team with physicians who specialize in chronic pelvic pain and pelvic floor physical therapists. My work combines pain psychology - the evidence-based cognitive behavioral treatment of pain, with pelvic medicine and sex therapy approaches. I partner with pelvic floor physical therapists and physicians to treat pelvic pain conditions as part of a biopsychosocial, whole person approach most supported by medical literature.
