Dr. Mary Beth Fiser Lewis, PT, DPT, WCS, Cert-DN Ochsner Health Systems
Mary Beth is a board-certified Women’s Clinical Specialist who started her journey in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy in 2011 after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis. Immediately after graduation she started her specialized post-doctoral training, and her passion for Pelvic Health Physical Therapy and commitment to excellence continue to inspire and fuel her personal mission to increase public awareness of how physical therapy can treat pregnancy and post-partum issues, bladder and bowel issues as well as pelvic pain. People often limit themselves socially due to pain or embarrassed which significantly impacts their quality of life. It is rewarding for Mary Beth when she can empower her patients to regain control over their bladder and bowel issues or reduce their pain so that they once again enjoy their life. In her career, Mary Beth has started three successful pelvic health programs in two different states, and in 2021 she became the Pelvic Health Program Supervisor for Ochsner Therapy and Wellness in New Orleans. Since taking on this role she has doubled the program from 6 to 12 clinical sites which significantly increased the program’s reach and positioned Ochsner as a leader in pelvic health physical therapy within the community and surrounding areas. In 2023 she spearheaded Ochsner’s development of the first Women’s and Pelvic Health Residency Program for Ochsner in the Gulf Coast Region. It was granted candidacy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency & Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) and is one of only 18 accredited programs in the nation. When Mary Beth is not in the clinic treating patients, you can find her spending time with her husband, at the barn riding her horse, tending to her plants or photographing the world around her.
