Kimberly (Buonomo) Norton was born and raised in the Boston area. She graduated from the Honors Program at UMASS Boston with her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Health Science in 2012 and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 2016. She started her career in a combined orthopedic and aquatic therapy practice until her experience as a pelvic health patient sparked her interest in pursuing the specialty in 2018. Kim sees patients of all genders and has a particular interest in the treatment of bowel related pelvic floor dysfunction, and endometriosis related muscular dysfunction. She lights up when she can help someone understand how the pelvic floor muscles work and how it affects their specific symptoms and loves educating patients, students, and other providers on all things pelvic health. She values working on a multidisciplinary team, where providers of different specialties all come together to improve the lives of their patients. She has extensive lecturing experience, including guest lecturing at several DPT programs in the Boston area, being a teaching assistant for the Advanced Management of Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndromes course in 2019, and lecturing and treating patients in Nairobi, Kenya with the Jackson Clinics Foundations’ “Train One, Teach Many” project for their pelvic pain module. She has served as a clinical mentor for fledgling pelvic health providers both locally and internationally, and has advanced training in endometriosis, dry needling, and bowel dysfunction.
