Cheresa graduated with a bachelor's degree in dance performance from Old Dominion University. After her undergraduate education, she moved to New York to study at the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Her extensive background in ballet and modern dance fostered her passion for movement science while making her aware of the vital role of the core and pelvic floor during physical training. After four years of performing, Cheresa returned to academia to earn a doctorate of physical therapy. In addition to her training from the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, she had the honor of studying under two distinguished figures in pelvic floor rehabilitation. This exposure has given her experience in treating a wide variety of orthopedic and pelvic floor diagnoses in both men and women.
