Melissa Runquist PT, DPT, PRPC
Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital Keck Center for Outpatient Services.
Melissa received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009 and later specialized in pelvic floor therapy in 2019. She is dedicated to helping her patients improve their quality of life who have diagnoses related to bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction. She has extensive expertise in treating men, woman, and children with a wide range of conditions , including post- operative care, pregnancy and post- partum, trauma, chronic pain, orthopedic and neurological conditions such as Parkinson's Disease, stroke, MS, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and post- concussion syndrome. Treatment is comprehensive and holistic, providing patients with the education and tools needed to support them through their recovery journey. Additionally, she is trained in the use of SEMG Biofeedback and the Rehabilitation Ultrasound for purposes of intervention and education. Melissa holds certification in the LSVT Big and Loud Program for Parkinson’s Disease. She actively serves on the Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital Brain Injury Committee and Evidenced Practice Committee. She was invited as a guest speaker at Cottage Hospital’s Save the Brain Symposium in 2022, where she presented on the effects of stroke and spinal cord injuries on the pelvic floor.
