Hartford Healthcare Rehab Services, Rockville campus
Alyssa Itzkowitz, PT, DPT, PCES, PRPC is a certified pelvic health physical therapist who has worked in a hospital based outpatient clinic since 2014. She grew up in Vernon, CT and currently resides there, just a short distance from work! Alyssa graduated from the University of Hartford in 2009 with a BS in Health Science and in 2012 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She spearheaded the pelvic health program at Rockville General Hospital in 2018 with her colleague. She offers 1:1 treatments for all patients, 90 minute pelvic health evaluations, and 30 or 60 minute follow-up sessions based on the client's needs. Alyssa is a Lead Teaching Assistant with the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute teaching pelvic floor therapists external and internal pelvic assessments and treatments. Alyssa is an avid clinical instructor and takes up to 2 doctor of physical therapy students each year from the University of Hartford, Springfield College and the University of Connecticut. Some of her favorite diagnoses to treat include: pelvic pain, endometriosis related pain and symptoms, painful vaginal penetration, pregnancy/postpartum related issues, and return to exercise postpartum. Alyssa is trained to treat the whole patient including assessing the visceral connections of the GI, urinary & reproductive systems. She participates in countless hours of continuing education, including the Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist certification. Alyssa earned her Pelvic Rehab Practitioner Certification in November 2023. If you are unsure if your diagnosis falls into any of those categories, please reach out! In her free time, she enjoys working out, spending time with her fiancé, best friends and family, being the best auntie to the 2 cutest little nephews, cooking, traveling and playing with the family dog, Coco!
