Brightside Integrative Physical Therapy
"Be the person you needed when you were younger." When I was younger, I struggled for many years with significant depression and physical pain. After a troubled pregnancy and an emergency C-section in 2010, I was all but disabled. After a long personal journey with healing and fitness after the birth of my daughter, I returned to school and graduated with my doctor of Physical Therapy from East Tennessee State University in 2019. I worked intensively for the next two years in a physician-owned OB/GYN clinic treating a variety of women's health conditions across the lifespan including pregnancy/postpartum rehab, incontinence, prolapse, and complex pelvic pain conditions such as endometriosis, vaginismus, dyspareunia, and more. During this time, I continued to take ongoing professional education through Maitland, Master Dry Needling, Herman and Wallace, Pelvic PT Rising, and others in order to be able to offer my best care for a wide range of conditions. Throughout that time, I was also studying yoga, meditation, breathwork, energy work, and biofield therapies in my own life. Through my experiences and encounters with many teachers, I have realized the need for holistic whole-body, whole-person healthcare that can minister to the physical body as well as our more subtle parts. In order to meet this need, I opened my private practice, Brightside Integrative Physical Therapy, in October 2021. My private practice exists to help patients with chronic pain, pelvic dysfunction, and other somatic complaints to find relief from discomfort and to bring movement, joy, and pleasure back into their lives. I take care to acknowledge the role that mental health and spiritual self-care play in the healing process, and I take an integrative approach to help my patients better understand how their bodies work and how their symptoms and overall wellness are all connected. We will work together to help you develop the skills you need to invite strength, pleasure, and inner wellness back into your life. My patients receive my personalized blend of holistic, intuitive, and evidence-based therapy for: - Pelvic Floor Dysfunction - Chronic/complex Pain - Pregnancy/Postpartum - Birth Support - Sexual Wellness - Chronic Stress - Mobility/balance Issues - Inflammatory/autoimmune Issues - Functional Wellness
