I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Arizona and a Master in Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine's Institute of Physical Therapy. I chose the profession of Physical Therapy because I believed it would give me the opportunity to offer a positive change in people’s lives. Today, over 20 years later, I would choose it again for the same reason, except now I know just how beneficial and impactful physical therapy can be on someone’s journey towards improved health. I opened Calyx Therapeutics in San Francisco to provide the Bay Area with a place for holistic rehabilitation and wellness with a focus on physical therapy for pelvic dysfunction, postpartum mothers and those with chronic pain. Over the course of my career, I have acquired extensive training in the fields of pelvic rehabilitation. My approach combines manual therapy techniques such as Fascial Counterstrain, Visceral Manipulation, and traditional manual therapy combined with instruction in Therapeutic Movement that involves integration of the whole body with breathing (yoga, Pilates, Foundation Training). I most enjoy helping patients with the following conditions: pelvic pain, low back pain, pain with intercourse (dyspareunia), incontinence (urinary leaking), post-surgical pain (status post abdominal or back surgery), abdominal adhesions, postpartum, and infertility.
