Elizabeth is a physical therapist in practice since 1987 and owner of CorePhysio. She is a 1987 graduate of Marquette University's program in physical therapy and additionally earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2016. Elizabeth earned her Board Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2009. Additionally, she earned her Board Certification in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback in 2005. She has earned specialized certifications in Women's Health Physical Therapy (TWU), childbirth education, doula training, and Pilates-based Rehabilitation.Elizabeth completed the Executive Program in Private Practice Management through EIM in 2015 and uses this innovative knowledge to grow CorePhysio as a client centered, employee and community-focused business. Since 2006, Elizabeth has been faculty for the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, providing continuing education courses on pelvic floor dysfunction to health care providers across the United States. She teaches courses relating to urogynecologic pain, colorectal dysfunction, elimination disorders, male and female pelvic pain and differential diagnosis, as well as the treatment of urinary incontinence in men, women and children. Elizabeth's professional publications include: "Use of Transabdominal Ultra Sound Imaging in Retaining the Pelvic Floor Muscles of a Woman Postpartum" (Ariail,A, SearsT, Hampton E, PT Journal October 2008), The Journal of the Section on Women's Health "The Relationship Between Pelvic Floor and Abdominal Musculature: Clinical Recommendations for Rehabilitation based on Emerging Literature," (Hampton E, April 2003) and contributing editor of The Gynecological Manual, (APTA, Section on Women's Health, 2002) "Clinical Applications of SEMG Biofeedback of the Pelvic Floor." Elizabeth teaches all foundational pelvic health rehabilitation courses through Herman and Wallace, as well as "Finding the Driver in Pelvic Pain". She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Sections on Women's Health, Orthopedics, Private Practice, the Private Practice Special Interest Group (PPSIG) as well as the Washington State Physical Therapy Association. She is the proud mum of Davis (University of Puget Sound) and Liv (Sehome High School), wife of Mike, and enjoys training for triathalons. After being a sports and spine PT for 10 years, the birth of her kids gave her personal and professional insight into the role of the pelvis. Since 1995, she has dedicated her career to furthering her understanding of the role of the pelvis in human function. In her role as a practice owner, mentor and educator, she feels strongly about furthering clinician's IQ and EQ in providing safe, comfortable and informative treatment to clients with sensitive health diagnoses.
