Elysia Peterson PT, DPT Eagle Center Physical Therapy
Elysia was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Buffalo, NY, where she spent much of her early life. Elysia obtained her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Niagara University and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Daemen College in Buffalo. Throughout her travels, Elysia has worked as a physical therapist in four states, including New York, Mississippi, Arizona, and Alaska. Elysia first landed in Alaska as a traveling physical therapist in February 2020 with her best friend, Chelsea (also an ECPT therapist). Elysia and Chelsea bought one-way tickets to Alaska and decided they were not leaving. Elysia fell in love with Alaska's beauty as soon as she stepped off the airplane and glanced at Anchorage's beautiful snow-covered mountains. When Elysia is not treating her patients, you will find her and her best friend, Chelsea, running, biking, and hiking their favorite Alaskan mountains. Elysia has run three half marathons so far and plans to run many more in this beautiful state. She also enjoys traveling to new places--she and Chelsea have visited 16 new states over the last year. When she isn't gallivanting around the USA, she slakes her thirst for adventure by traveling abroad, including Germany, Austria, Italy, England, Ireland, Italy, Panama, and Sri Lanka. Elysia is a very hands-on therapist and believes her most powerful tool as a therapist are her hands. Elysia's favorite part about being a physical therapist is "healing patient with movement instead of medicine." She is specialized in Pelvic Floor physical therapy through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Elysia has completed Pelvic Floor Level 1 and 2a courses.
