As a physical therapist for outpatient orthopedics patients, I help individuals with injuries of the neuromusculoskeletal system from new-onset or chronic conditions. I provide treatment for pelvic ring disorders, sports medicine diagnoses, therapy for headaches, neck and back pain. I am certified in Pelvic Health Rehab for pelvic floor conditions and peripartum diagnoses such as pelvic pain, urinary and bowel incontinence, as well as constipation, abdominal pain, GERD, painful intercourse and many other conditions affecting the pelvis and abdomen. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to treat pelvic floor disorders and help patients improve their quality of life. Many of my patients have found pain relief from dry needling, a therapeutic procedure I perform that involves inserting filament needles into a muscle’s trigger point region to restore the muscle’s length and contraction ability. Additionally, I have advanced training in manual therapy and fascial release of all areas of the body and incorporate a multi-modal approach to patient care. I grew up in Carstairs, Alberta, Canada, and moved to the U.S. to play hockey for the University of Minnesota. I was part of the 2004 team that won an NCAA championship. I coached the Edina High School varsity girls’ hockey team for five years. My husband, Andrew, and I are proud parents to 2 wonderfully sweet and active kiddos, Connor and Kate and I coach both of them in the Waconia Hockey Association.
