Lauren Peterson, PT, DPT, CAPP-Pelvic FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers of Oklahoma City
Lauren grew up in Oklahoma City, OK is thrilled to now live and bring her family back to OKC! Lauren holds her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and received her Pilates Certification in mat and equipment from Lotus Pilates under Corinna Cosentino-Quintana. Lauren earned a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University Bloomington in Ballet Performance with an outside field in Kinesiology. She has been teaching Pilates since 2008 and has been a practicing Physical Therapist since 2013. As a young ballet student at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Lauren was introduced to Pilates and used it for conditioning and injury rehabilitation through her ballet training at the Harid Conservatory, National Ballet School of Canada, Indiana University and while dancing professionally with Texas Dance Theatre. After having her first child, Lauren became interested in pelvic rehabilitation and women's health. Lauren then sought special education and training through the American Physical Therapy Association Section on Women's Health, completing the CAPP Pelvic series coursework and has also taken courses through the Herman Wallace & Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Lauren is thrilled to now be a part of the FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers family and looks forward to serving OKC with specialized programs for pelvic health and vestibular and balance rehab. Lauren has been trained under Brain Werner, PT, MPT National Director of Balance Programs for FYZICAL for vestibular rehab and is working with Cindy Neville, PT, DPT, WCS National Director of Pelvic Health and Wellness for FYZICAL to better her pelvic health knowledge. Lauren wants to make sure that the people of OKC are being served with the best protocols and care available.
