Marielena “Lena” graduated from the University of South Florida in 2005 with a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. She also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 2003 from Florida Atlantic University. Lena has been practicing Physical Therapy for over 17 years in various settings, including Women's health, outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehab, subacute rehab, and home health Physical Therapy. She is a well-rounded Physical Therapist with extensive experience in a multitude of settings. She has received continuing education in manual mobilization therapy, visceral mobilization therapy, functional exercise training, and scar mobilization. In 2020, Lena obtained her Pelvic Floor Practitioner Certification through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and her certification in Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercises with Sarah Duvall. Lena has also received extensive training in Microcurrent Point Stimulation application for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, as well as, scar release therapy. She has also obtained her Advanced Scar and Trauma Certification to assist in the treatment in chronic pelvic pain. She has extensive experience in treating women’s health issues and orthopedic injuries across the adult lifespan. She is eager to continue to advance her knowledge in manual techniques and women’s health issues.
