Melanie Massey Groves is a 1993 graduate of Louisiana State Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. She has been an outpatient physical therapist and owned her own clinic Melanie Massey Physical Therapy for 25 years. Melanie Massey Physical Therapy has 5 clinics in North Louisiana treating all ages and virtually all conditions. Melanie's specific emphasis began in pediatrics. This knowledge lent itself well to the neurological population as well. It was in 2014 that Melanie developed an interest in pelvic floor rehab, attended a course by Herman Wallace, and became the states first Pelvic Therapy Practitioner Certified Clinician (PRPC). Since that time, Melanie has expanded her practice to treat not only adult females, but also males and children as well. Melanie Massey Physical Therapy has three practitioners working with pelvic floor conditions, including dyspareunia (painful intercourse), urge urinary incontinence (can't hold it), urinary frequency (going more often than normal), stress incontinence (leaking when coughing, jumping, etc.), post prostatectomy issues for men, and now pediatric incontinence (including bed wetting, neurogentic bladder, and kidney reflux disorders). Melanie has successful experience with constipation and fecal incontinence. Melanie Massey Physical Therapy has biofeedback, neuromuscular electric stimulation and tools to use in a home program for treatment of pelvic floor and conditions. Because there are 70 employees at Melanie Massey Physical Therapy , there is a specialist in almost every area , including lymphedema, sacroiliac dysfunction, hip and pelvic girdle disorders, and even breath and overall movement problems. These areas of interest complement Melanie's understanding of the pelvic floor musculature.
