Melia studied at San Diego State University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and then continued her studies at Mount St Mary’s College where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). She did her post-professional residency in Orthopedics at Kaiser West Los Angeles. She is a Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) that enjoys working with high school and collegiate level athletes to the weekend warrior. She also specializes in Women’s Health and treats pelvic floor dysfunction which can include urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, low back pain, diastasis recti, and pre/post-natal care. And all with a strong emphasis in returning women to their sport or an active lifestyle post-partum. Melia is a Certified Pilates Teacher (CPT) and incorporates her teachings into a rehabilitative setting. She also performs light touch therapies such as Craniosacral Therapy and holistic care with Visceral Mobilizations in order to address the whole person, not just the site of pain.
