Rachael Gossett PT, DPT, SEP Root & Ember Physical Therapy
Rachael Gossett, PT, DPT, SEP, PCES is a nervous system informed physical therapist dedicated to helping people navigate the complexities of pelvic health and postpartum recovery with safety, connection, and empowerment. Since earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018, Rachael has developed a specialized practice grounded in pelvic health and orthopedic principles, with a deep interest in the mind-body-gut connection and how it shapes physical symptoms. She helps clients manage chronic pain, bowel and bladder dysfunction, challenges with sexual activity or pelvic examinations, dizziness, and sensory processing conditions. Her work is especially meaningful for those recovering from challenging births or complex postpartum journeys, including cesarean delivery, or assisted delivery with forceps or vacuum. While Rachael works confidently with impairments across the body and lifespan, her primary focus is postpartum healing. As a certified Pregnant and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES), she combines orthopedic expertise with interventions such as exercise prescription, motor control training, manual therapy, functional dry needling, and education on pain neuroscience and nervous system regulation. Each treatment plan is collaboratively tailored to the individual’s unique story and goals. Rachael also holds a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) certificate and has completed advanced Co-Regulating Touch training with Kathy Kain, which enhances her trauma-informed, hands-on approach. This nervous system work is central to her care—supporting clients whose symptoms and dysfunctions may be linked to physical trauma, childbirth-related stress, or nervous system dysregulation. One of her key strengths is helping clients distinguish between biomechanical impairments and nervous system protective patterns, enabling targeted and effective healing strategies. She consistently approaches care with sensitivity, safety, and attunement. Rachael is also passionate about how vestibular and visual systems influence body perception and movement, and she offers specialized support for clients healing from high-impact events such as car accidents or falls that affect balance and body awareness. At Root & Ember Physical Therapy, Rachael’s mission is to foster embodiment, confidence, and a sense of safety within the body—empowering clients to reclaim movement, connection, and joy throughout their lives.
