RikkiLynn Shields, PT, DPT, CLT, E-RYT
Dr. RikkiLynn Shields, PT, DPT, CLT, E-RYT completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Dominican University New York where she served as the president of the Student Physical Therapy Association, earned the Leadership Award and Clinical Education Award, as well as an award for her doctoral research focusing on pelvic asymmetry assessment. She is passionate about and specializes in treating pelvic health conditions in women, men, and pediatric patients. She utilizes a combination of traditional and holistic approaches to rehabilitation, with an emphasis on manual therapy, breath work, and exercise. In addition to treating a variety of pelvic health conditions- including but not limited to bowel, bladder, and sexual dysfunctions, prenatal and postpartum training, pre- and post-prostatectomy rehabilitation- RikkiLynn is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) and an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT) and is passionate about treating lymphedema, orthopedics, and pediatrics. RikkiLynn is deeply fascinated by the body’s ability to heal itself, and draws upon her background as a yoga teacher and Division I Cross Country and Track and Field runner to treat a variety of conditions. RikkiLynn is a proud advocate for each of her patients, and understands the importance of balancing life while honoring your body. Her ultimate goal is to provide her patients with the means to initiate healing, optimize function, move better, breathe better, and live more vibrant lives.
