As an Occupational Therapist, I have seen how bladder, bowel, sexual dysfunction, and pelvic pain impacts all areas of daily living across the lifespan. I utilize an individualized, occupation-focused approach toward assessment, education, and treatment of clients. Through Balanced Pelvic Health, my mobile outpatient pelvic floor therapy practice, I bring a skilled, individualized approach to the convenience of your home, and offer virtual services throughout the state of Virginia. I am a licensed and registered Occupational Therapists with over 20 years of clinical experience. I have pursued education in manual pain management strategies such as myofascial release, biofeedback, pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercises, cognitive behavioral approaches, and well as in using the brain-body connection with such techniques as graded motor imagery and autogenic relaxation, to find the best approach toward each individual. I am a teaching assistant for Herman and Wallace, and have given presentations on pelvic health to the American Occupational Therapy Association, Virginia Occupational Therapy Association, and the OT's in Pelvic Health Summit, as well as frequently being a guest-speaker on pelvic health related topics. I am also faculty at Shenandoah University's Master of Occupational Therapy program. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my 3 children and our cat, reading, and doing yoga.
