Simone Romero, PT, DPT, CLT The Pelvic Health Clinic
When patients and peers ask why I chose pelvic health, I tell them the story of my 23-year-old friend asking “Wait, I have THREE holes down there?!” to a group of peers one night in college. The following week we had an anatomy lesson, and we broke down the shame barrier that had kept us from talking about our bodies before. I decided then I wanted to create shame-vanishing environments for other people to learn about, heal, and love their bodies. Many of my patients arrive to PT feeling ashamed about their symptoms: how their pelvic pain disrupts their life and pleasure how leakage keeps them from running with their friends and families how constipation keeps them from traveling and my goal is that they leave PT feeling like they have control and resolve from their symptoms and that they feel empowered in their bodies. I treat patients of all ages (starting at 2 years old) and genders with all concerns of bowel, bladder, and sexual health. I am especially passionate about working with patients with gastrointestinal concerns and pelvic pain, and providing care and a safe space for LGBTQ+ patients.
