Starla Denton PT, MHS, PRPC, WCS specializes in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy for women, men, and children. Starla graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a BS in Physical Therapy in 1987 and completed a Post Professional Masters of Health Science from Krannert School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis in 1997. Starla worked as an outpatient orthopedic PT and began her journey in Pelvic Health in 1995 by taking the course, "Pelvic Floor Function, Dysfunction, and Treatment" taught by Hollis Herman and Kathe Wallace. Starla received further training in Pelvic Health PT through the American Physical Therapy Association Academy of Pelvic Health and completed the CAPP-Pelvic Certificate. Starla has been awarded the Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) distinguishing her as an expert in the field of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Women's Health Physical Therapy. Starla developed the Women's Health Physical Therapy program at St. Bernard's Regional Hospital in 1995 which specialized in treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, prenatal and postnatal Physical Therapy. The program later included pelvic Physical Therapy for men as well. Starla is currently the owner of an outpatient clinic in Jonesboro Arkansas dedicated to pelvic health rehabilitation. Pelvic Floor and Core Physical Therapy of Jonesboro, LLC is dedicated to treatment of women, men, and children with pelvic floor dysfunction. Starla is an adjunct instructor at Arkansas State University where she teaches an elective in Women's Health to 3rd year Doctoral Physical Therapy students. She is a Clinical Instructor as well, teaching Doctoral students in her clinic. Starla has been active on a local level in the Arkansas Physical Therapy Association and received the Arkansas Physical Therapy Association Professional Development award in 1997. She served on the Arkansas State Physical Licensure Board from 1997 to 2003 and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association Academy of Pelvic Health and The National Vulvodynia Association. For several years Starla has had a passion for treating individuals suffering with pelvic floor dysfunction. Her clinic is devoted to specialized care for those individuals. The mission of Pelvic Floor and Core Physical Therapy of Jonesboro, LLC is to increase awareness of the benefits of Physical Therapy for treatment of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and to provide a space for those suffering with pelvic pain and dysfunction to feel safe sharing their story. Starla considers it a privilege to listen to a patient's story and share with them that there is hope and healing for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
